August is National Peach Month, and we’re celebrating by counting down the five best ways to eat a peach. Of course, there’s one caveat: the absolute best way to eat a peach is fresh off the tree, unadulterated by culinary whim. But we assumed you already knew that.
#5: Peach Ice Cream. August is hot. Escape to a cool paradise with a scoop of peach ice cream, frozen yogurt, or sherbet. Close your eyes and take a bite, allowing the velvety treat to soothe the summer swelters.

EatStreeters are the most important people in the world. To us, at least. That’s why we try to get to know as many of them as possible. This week, we took 10 minutes and 10 questions to Chris Smith, a 22 year old student who gave us (nearly) 10 reasons to order 10 batches of Dong Ting Shrimp from China Dragon. Read on to find out how Chinese food, microwaves, and all four seasons are linked together in Chris’s life, and why we’re now unable to stop thinking about shrimp.

There are lots of awesome places to have a picnic. Yet there are a few venues the sane among us might do well to avoid…
#5: In a nuclear reactor.
-You will sprout extra arms, making it easier to spread jelly on multiple sandwiches at once
-The faint green glow from the uranium creates a romantic ambiance
-Mosquitos and other small bugs will be vaporized when they come close to you
-You’re eating inside a nuclear reactor

According to popular legend, the 4th Earl of Sandwich (left) was the eponymous inventor of the modern favorite. It has been said that Sandwich was a compulsive gambler who required easy-to-eat victuals during long stretches at the card table. On the contrary, it has also been speculated that Sandwich’s real compulsion was work, and that he ate slices of breads and meats while at his desk. Either way, the sandwich has earned a permanent spot in the modern culinary repertoire. Here are our favorite summer sandwiches:

Loyal customers are the foundation of EatStreet. Without you all, food delivery would still be in the Dark Ages. Recently, we took a few minutes to get to know one of our best customers, Chris Morgan, a 22-year old student the University of Madison-Wisconsin with a voracious appetite. Here’s a quick view into his life and the role that pizza rolls, Mount Everest, and Anthony Bourdain play in it.

This is the first-ever installment of Dishin’ It Out’s “Bites & Beverages” feature. Every few weeks, we’ll take a look at the best things to drink with the best things to eat. Today, we’re paying homage to that bastion of between-bun goodness–the burger.
Going with the classic cheddar cheeseburger? Maybe a slice of tomato and some crisp lettuce for extra crunch? Accompany it with an amber or brown ale. They’re drinkable, all-purpose beers with a delicate balance of sweet maltiness and bitter hoppiness. And if you’re more into hopps than I am, an IPA would also pair nicely.

The summer season is upon us. What better way to celebrate than by consuming some of the signature delicacies of summer? And what better way to prepare them than by grilling? While there are plenty of things that you can throw on a grill, we at EatStreet have decided to narrow down the list to a Top 5 collection of the very best grilled foods.
#5: Shish Kabobs. These provide you with the most options when grilling. You can either prepare them ahead of time, or each person can make their own using any combination of beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, veggies, fruit, and potatoes. The possibilities are endless!
#4: Hot Dogs & Brats. What better food to cook on your grill than the staple of baseball games? Not only are they decently priced, but they’re also easy to cook in large batches, allowing you to please a hungry crowd. My personal favorite is a venison brat.
